| | | Bee's nest question Hi, I found a ground bee's nest in my garden, I've been told it's a bumble bee nest ( Anyone know what kind of bee this is?) and was wondering what is best to do with it?
How long will the nest be active if it's left where it is?
Thanks |

| | | Re: Bee's nest question The bumblebees will mostly have hatched out their young by now,and will only last until the autumn. They die after a short working life, and only the mated queens survive the winter, hibernating and starting another nest in tne spring. They use holes in the ground like those made by mice. They won't harm you if you let them be!

| | | Re: Bee's nest question Bumble bees are generally quite friendly and shouldn't cause you any problems unless the nest is likely to be disturbed by pets or small children.
Best to leave it alone, should only be there for a few months | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
