| | | [Req ID] Several species that I'm unsure about. Help with ID appreciated. Hi folks,
I'd be grateful for assistance identifying a few different beasties seen over the last couple of months.
First is what I took to be a fly with green thorax and bright blue abdomen, N.Yorks coast yesterday. Fly or wasp, green thorax blue abdomen, South Gare June 26 - Wild About Britain Pics
Secondly, a beautiful blue weevil in Derbyshire at the end of last month Some sort of blue weevil, Derbyshire May 31 - Wild About Britain Pics
Thirdly, a bug of some kind that my pal almost accidentally squashed with his elbow! Some sort of shield bug, Derbyshire May 31 - Wild About Britain Pics
Lastly, I'm unsure that these are Adella reaumurella (thousands dancing in the sun around a young oak, May 2nd, Derbyshire) and seek confirmation. http://www.wildaboutbritain.co.uk/ar...p/photo/165846
Thanks in advance,

Can't help with the others I'm afraid!

The first is a Soldierfly - could be Sargus iridatus. Next is a Phyllobius species of weevil then the Birch Shieldbug as Nigel said above. Can't do the last, not experienced too much in those.
Take care, Jason |

Take care, Jason | Hi Jason,
That's very helpful indeed, thanks. In fact I'm pretty happy that the last one is what I thought it was, the three you ID'd were the ones I was really struggling with.
Many thanks again.

Adela reaumurella looks good to me.
