| | | Re: Insect book I have this book and it is excellent for a general guide on insects, it certainly helped me get a little better in identifying insects.

Might sound a bit specific but actually covers a ot of general Uk bugs and has better photos than Chinery.
Only recently published.

| | | Re: Insect book That Collins book is probably the best 'comprehensive' identification guide at a realistic price.
But although it contains a lot of information in around 360 pages, so much has had to be left out. So you will probably also want to get a few of the more expensive specialist books; depending on what are your 'favourite insects'.
The Field Studies Council also produce some affordable small publications and fold-open guides which may prove useful FSC Publications - RES Handbooks for identification of British Insects | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
