| | | Re: Flies for ID Evening Peter,
The first is a Long-legged Fly, Dolichopodidae family and could be something from the Dolichopus genus.
Take care, Jason |

This was very small. It is on Field bindweed to give it some scale.

| | | Re: Flies for ID I think that's a Phania (Tachinidae), of which you need to examine the ventral surface of the hind femur to separate two or so closely-allied species.
I find these frequently, small too as you say - 5mm max. |

| | | Re: Flies for ID #1 isn't really showing enough detail, but comparing it to one I have, Dolichopus ungulatus, it looks to have leg bristles and colour the same. It seems to be fairly common.
#2 I think must be Sarcophagidae, it's a male and has wide apart eyes.
The last posted is likely Rhinophoridae, not Tachinidae. And I think you mean Phasia Jason, the two similar ones P. barbifrons and P. pusilla are separated by the setae on the face, and colour of halters.

| | | Re: Flies for ID - it's neither Rhinophoridae, nor me meaning Phasia. Phania has a distinctive habitus, not really mistakeable once practical experience is accrued. |
