| | Cucumber Spider? I found a small spider hitching a ride on the arm of my fleece earlier. It had greenish translucent legs and a yellow and green stripy abdomen. Could this be a cucumber spider (Arianella Curcubitina)? I have googled some pictures of the species. It's almost right but none of the photos appear to be stripy.

| | | Re: Cucumber Spider? I can't tell without a photo, but the stripey bit makes me think it could be Enoplognatha ovata, a common spider that comes in 3 "flavours", or rather 3 different colour patterns, one of which is green with yellowish stripes. Search for a picture and see if it rings any bells. A bell-ringing spider, now that I would travel to see.

| | | Re: Cucumber Spider? There's a sub forum for spiders, though if it looked like this one that hitched a lift home with me in 2009, then yep cucumber spider it was.

| | | Re: Cucumber Spider? Starting to think it could be E. ovata. Stupidly, I didn't think of taking a photo at the time. Will also have a look at that Spider sub forum.
