Cixius nervosus or a close relative?

S. Devon 16/06/11. Mature woodland near the sea.



I think I am in the correct area with Cixius nervosus but I don't have any detailed information on this species.

So is it possible to say this is C. nervosus or should I leave the word possible in the title?

Or am I totally wrong once again?

I'd agree with C. nervosus but Joe or Tristan will probably be along to give the 'spert's opinion.


BTW what lens did you use, I can never get shots that sharp on things as small as hoppers?

Gerel. This was with a 180 mm Sigma macro lens plus 1.4x converter on a tripod, and with flash. Manual focus. Probably 1/250 F14 Iso 100. Canon 40D.

I did see something similar about 3 years ago in another wood.

I am sure this will be C. nervosus, they are larger than the other Cixius species (and much commoner).
