I just found my tiny dog carrying this around the garden, its HUGE!! Never seen any beetles this big in the uk before, does anybody know what it is?

Any chance of larger photographs? It may be a Chafer of some kind - not sure on the basis of those.

hi, I cant seem to upload bigger pictures, it just seems to shrink them.  I have them all on photobucket but the website doesnt seem to like that either,can someone please let me know how I get the bigger pictures on here?
ill try the photobucket again if you like... 
been searching t'internet, am I right in thinking it might be a female stag beetle?? |
