Just a few beetles I've found recently that might be of interest (I hope I've got the ID's correct).
First up is one that is fairly unmistakable, the Rhinoceros Beetle,
Sinodendron cylindricum. Found on a dead tree in the garden.
The male,
and again showing the 'horn' that gives it its name.
And the female which doesn't have a 'horn'.
Secondly, I am fairly sure that this is the nationally scarce False Darkling beetle,
Melandrya caraboides , not the greatest pic though.
Finally a large (c 20mm) and striking ground beetle which I think is Carabus arvensis
Thanks for looking
