| | | 4 flies for id if poss please Hi can anyone name these for me please.
At first glance I thought this was a needle fly. About3/4 inch long and very thin. In the right light it has a red boddy.
Small and completely caramel in colour.
Very small and abundant at the moment. boddy has the appearance of black velvet.
Some type of hoverfly?
Thanks
regards tn.

Possibly Neuroctena anilis - but that's not an expert opinion!

#2 possibly lauxaniidae, Sapromyza sp. but it's difficult to say without seeing the face.
#3 Lauxaniidae, Minettia longipennis
#4 Calliphoridae, Pollenia sp.
