Hi Hedera

It looks like a Rove Beetle to me - possibly Aleochara bipustulata....but I can't tell 100% as your photograph doesn't show definition of the body very well.

It's a Rove Beetle as said - but these are difficult and best done with specimens.

Thanks all. This one was a good 2cms long. It disappeared into a pile of dead leaves and I lost it.
