And I suppose that is the only angle you have, Toby. 
My first thoughts are Leucozona glaucia but I'm not totally convinced.
Any idea of size?
But unless someone else instantly recognises it I think this is possibly one to mull over. |

Leucozona laternaria, the scutellum is black. L. glaucia has a yellow scutellum.

looks good and Hoverflies of Surrey notes that glaucia is associated with Hogweed in woodland rides which is spot on. |
