| | | Beetle for ID - poss Cryptocephalus
I found this beetle in the garden yesterday. It fell out of a plant (francoa) I was tidying, and for a while I thought it was dead, as it landed on it's back, legs folded, and didn't move for about 10 minutes. It looks like pictures I have found of Cryptocephalus hypochaeridis or aureolus, but in the few pics I have found of the undersides they both seem to be metallic green underneath as well, but this was just plain dark brown. |

| | | Re: Beetle for ID - poss Cryptocephalus That was quick - thanks. I dismissed Chrysolina banksi as the picture in my book looks metallic brown/bronze, but this beetle was definitely green/gold. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
