| | | 'Table-style' keys Evening all,
I was shown a key a while back that covers a group that I'm currently hoping to crack. The only thing is - it's one of them 'table-style' keys, rather than the dichotomous ones I'm used to.
In short, a lot of the time the first option of the first couplet will be applicable and you'll go ahead to 2, then identify the applicable sub-couplet - and get re-directed back to the previous that sent you there!
How does this all work, then?
Take care, Jason |

| | | Re: 'Table-style' keys Its time someone did some keys that rely on computers. Then one could answer a whole series of questions, even with D/K, and get the result churned out.
I find keys so frustrating as I usually make an early error - I especially hate the Francis Rose ones, which makes me guilty as he was a friend of Dorts! |

| | | Re: 'Table-style' keys I did try some 'computer friendly' keys a couple of years ago. They were produced by Delta Intkey. It was an interactive system where you entered what you could and it gave a list of possible answers then asked more questions.
But I only briefly tried a sample of some of their older keys. I think the full system was several hundred pounds. And I struggled to get it to load into my computer; definitely not Auto Install.
In fact the whole system tended to send me round in circles before I could find the actual keys that I required.
Standard keys rely on having an actual specimen in front of you. I have often thought there must be a market for an identification system which started with a photo then worked backwards from that.
Too often, I find myself running two or three strands at the same time because I was uncertain of a particular branch, and only one of the threads can be correct because the others end up with something which is totally unlike what I have.
Here we are Delta system http://delta-intkey.com/www/programs.htm
Perhaps I will try to understand it again during the bleak days of next winter.
