| | | Caterpillar I.D I was just collecting some red campion seeds and to my surprise a rather large caterpillar was inside one of the seed heads. After checking a few more I noticed that there was caterpillars inside many of the heads and that I had even squashed some without realising. I have now placed them back on the plant but was just wondering what it is? |

| | | Re: Caterpillar I.D my money would be on The Lychnis or The campion, at certain times of the year you can go out at night and see them laying eggs in the flowers.

| | | Re: Caterpillar I.D The greedy buggers that I left on the plant have already started tucking into more seed heads so i'm sure they will be fine!
Do they emerge from the seed head just before completing the cycle? I wouldn't mind keeping an eye on them and practising some macro shots | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
