| | | Fly for id please I keep finding these in the house and I presume they are originating from inside as they can't get in from the outside.
Can someone give me an exact id and is it a pest I need to deal with?
Length is approx 1/2 inch long.

| | | Re: Fly for id please Your insect is a winged ant, though I am not sure of the species. This suggests either you have an ants nest in the wall or under the house with access points - have you noticed any ants in places like the kitchen recently? |

| | | Re: Fly for id please Thanks Matt. I was inclined to think a winged ant too. I don't find ants in the house at all. Over the last few years I've noticed these winged ants in the house and we get maybe 20 of them over the course of a week or so and then that's it until the following year. Would love to track down where the nest is and whether it's something that needs to be removed.
