| | | Fly for ID please Evnin' all!
I found this one at Priory Water last weekend...
The closest I can find in Complete British Insects (my only resource for flies) is Graphomyia maculata but I'm not convinced it is.

| | | Re: Fly for ID please This looks like the tachinid Trixa conspersa. Would be good if Matt or Chris could confirm.

| | | Re: Fly for ID please Looks good to me for Trixa - "round" head, short antennae, shading on specific wing veins.
Could I get the record details for the recording scheme please.
Thanks

It's a new one on me, is it a rarity?

| | | Re: Fly for ID please Not a rarity, but rather uncommon I would have thought. You could check the Tachinid Recording Scheme website.

| | | Re: Fly for ID please Thanks John, just looked it up. Not a huge number of records but fairly well spread across England and Wales.
This sighting was at grid ref SK 7163418745 on Saturday 28th May 2011 and my name is Dave Pressland. Hope that's enough but just shout if you need anything else.
