help ive got mites and dont know what they are! lanlord is useless!

hi me and my partner moved in to a flat in jan. and at first our bedroom always felt abit damp. yiu could feel it in our quilt when you got into bed at night. so we moved our bed into the other bedroom n started sleeping in there. but still we can eel damp in our quilt and if you leave a piece of clothing on the floor hen pick it up the next day it feels damp and horid. well any way ... a couple of days ago on my partners phone charger which is by the window, bed and bedside cabinet there was the tiniest little whitish cream little mites or bugs dont know what they are there is loads of them they just look like little flicks of dust unless you look closley at them. and also found them under our pillows. we thought that they were dust mites but we checked on the internet and theyre not. we asked the lanlord to come around and he was useless. and we really need help to figure out what to do next! we need to know what they are! cause at the moment we have to sleep in the living room and a air bed! which we shouldnt have to because we are paying rent for this place! so pleaseeee helppppppp.

Sound like Booklice or Pscocids to me - these harmless little beasties live in moist or damp environments and eat fungal spores and other tiny stuff. Getting the place dry will get rid of them.

I'm sorry to hear of your problem. I think you know how to solve it! These mites need dampish conditions and feed on fungus (guess what fungus likes?). Dry out your place and the problem will disappear. Bully your landlord to provide legally inhabitable accommodation.

Try asking at your local Citizen's Advice Bureau, they can probably help you to get your landlord to see sense. No cost to you.
