| | | Re: Snake fly Having looked at the key - you can't decide between X. xanthostigma or S. confinis on these images. Don't worry about R. ophiopsis - that's only an issue if you get to couplet 2 and got it from Scotland - Highland region, I suspect.

Thanks for looking. I agree with you. The basal end of cell 1 is much nearer the basal end of the pterostigma than I first thought.
On the basis of distribution maps X.xanthostigma is much more likely up here.
