Appears to have 6 legs, no wings and hairs/spikes on it's back. |

I wasn't expecting anyone to come back with ladybird. I was imagining all kind of nasty horrible things!

This isn't just a matter of words: those insects which have a complete metamorphosis of their bodies change from larvae to pupae to imagines (beetles, butterflies, flies etc) whereas the other insects (true bugs etc) grow from nymphs to imagines - the nymphs are just smaller, sexually inactive versions of the adult. Thought you'd like to know! |

Thought you'd like to know!  | You know what, yesterday I bought the Collins Complete Guide to British Insects, and about an hour ago I was reading about the difference between a larva and a nymph, obviously didn't take that bit in!!
