| | | unidentified flying insect I found this strange insect on my draining board today. I trapped it with a tumbler and paper and managed to photograph it before it flew away. It is about 3cm long and I have never seen anything like it. Can anyone identifu it please? |

It's a cranefly in the family Tipulidae, looks like Ctenophora pectinicornis but can't be sure without seeing more detail.
