Anyone else had stag beetles this year? My garden is almost crawling with them at the mo. In the last hour in my garden: 2+ lesser stag beetles, 3+ male stag beetles (2 in flight) and 1 female which ended mating with 1 of the males! |

I haven't seen a Stag Beetle for years  I enjoyed watching the piece about them on 'The Animals Guide To Britain' a little while ago.
I don't even know if we get them around here! 
It would be lovely if you could post some photos Neil.....if you haven't already!

Tracey | Ive stuck a pic in the Gallery for moderation.
Its funny you should mention 'The Animals Guide To Britain' as I was contacted about possible sights for stag beetle by one of those involved in the making of the programme. My response was along the lines of "well my garden if you contacted me last week, but now I've heard Richmond Park is good for them." The probably already knew about Richmond, but its nice to think I may have possibly helped them out a bit. |

It's weird for the last three years running we've had a Stag Beetle wander into our church during our prayer meeting. Nothing this year yet though! Hope they come back again!
