Yes, Leucozona lucorum. A species of Hoverfly that, like most of them, lacks an individual species-specific English name. Quote:

Paul | Never apologise for trying! That's great to see. The two do look pretty similar. It may now help to think of the ways in which they differ, if only from a couple of photos - get you looking closer, objectively, analytically.

I too was chuffed when I spotted one in Wales last year as to my knowledge I hadn't really seen this species before. I saw one again a few days ago in Spean Bridge in the Highlands but didn't get a photo this time .......
