| | Insects for ID First off, hello everyone! I've been a lurker for quite a while being impressed with the level of knowledge on this site so I hope someone can help improve mine (although it's very limited so shouldn't be difficult!).
Outside at work we have noticed these strange little bugs. At first glance they looked like a type of ladybird, but on closer inspection they have ridged/segmented shells and at the top what look like little suckers (also they appear to be well stuck to the container they are on). The markings are mainly orange with black markings at the top and bottom. I apologise about the absolutely shocking picture quality. And the lack of technical terms. |

| | | Re: Insects for ID It could well be a ladybird pupa. The third stage of it's development before it emerges as an adult.

| | | Re: Insects for ID I have googled for decent pictures of these and yes it is, thank you!
Me and my boss have both felt a little stupid at not thinking ladybirds had larva and pupa stages. At least we didn't think little mini storks brought them! |
