It certainly appears to have the typical X shaped wing vein mark of a Nemouridae species.
The absence of antennae is making me wonder. However, look closely at the original photo; can I just make out at least one antennae lying lengthwise along the woodwork where it is almost totally hidden.
I'm not really sure from this photo.
And, Toby, I know very little about this family. I'm just consulting my Field Studies Council leaflet. |

Yes it's a stonefly, I can't tell the species as I've no idea of scale and would also need look underneath. They're very common on stony rivers but fairly uncommon on ponds and slow rivers.
