| | | Giant hornet I have found a hornet and it measures about 3 inches in size. It has thick black rings going down ints back. I have it in a jar and it nearly takes up the whole of the bottom. I have a photo but do not know how to post it. |

At that size I wonder if you actually have a dragonfly there? Possibly a Gold-ringed Dragonfly - Cordulegaster boltoni. |
