Wasp or fly? Identification help please.

What is this, please?



Black and yellow; 25mm long; curiously patterned wings; interesting fan on the tail; found in Medway, North Kent.

No wasp like well waisted joint between the thorax and abdomen - so it can't be a wasp.

I'm thinking about one of the Clear winged Moths. But this is another specialised area so you aren't going to tempt me to stray any further into the unknown.

One for the moth experts to consider I think.

I'm not a moth expert but it's definitely one of the clearwings. I think this is the Currant Clearwing, Synanthedon tipuliformis.
