Help with Damsel flies

Any help by confirming the id,s on these Damsel Flies, Please.

1. Azure Damselfly
Seen along Grand Union Canal, Cowley, Middlesex on 13th May 2011




2. Banded Demoiselle
Seen along Grand Union Canal, Cowley, Middlesex on 13th May 2011

1st might be Variable Damselfly, although leave this to the pros

2nd is a Banded Demoiselle yes.



Where on the canal where all these?

I'd agree that these are Azure Damselfly (female) and Banded Demoiselle (male).

First is Azure. Variable Damselfly has a pale line horizontal between the eyes, in your image the line is under the eyes, more on the neck than the head
