| | | Ant ID I know ants are murder to ID without microscopes, but I always take a chance just in case. These guys were found in Bristol near a railway track. Quite slow moving, stayed still for long periods at a time. Apporximately 6mm long. I think they may be Formica fusca or Formica lemani. I am swayed towards the latter due to their size (think Formica fusca are around 8-10mm). Somebody correct me if I am wrong, which is quite possible! |

| | | Re: Ant ID Evening Seb,
It has the same sort of habitus as my specimen, which loosely keyed-out as Formica lemani as we discussed. I'll be happier in suggesting something when I get the relevant Naturalist's Handbook to these, however.
Take care, Jason |

| | | Re: Ant ID Thanks Jason, thought it was a little coincidental after your message yesterday! Have posted on an Ant forum to see if anyone can help along with the exbert WABBER's! | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
