I'm not sure where to start with this black and yellow insect, about 10mm? And then something looking a bit like a cricket and perhaps 15mm? Thanks for any help!   |

First is possibly an ichneumon wasp, but I'd wait for the real experts before accepting that. |

The lower image is the longhorn beetle, Agapanthea villosoviridescens, a handsome beast I occasionally find locally. |

Certainly I've never seen one in the garden before I grew this echinops Platinum Blue (globe thistle) (from seed, specially for the bees!) and I can see the beetle is on it again today. |
