| | | mice hi me and my partner noticed that we had 4 little mice coming out from under our shed for the past week but for the last couple of days they has only been two to feed on bird seed that had been dropped off our bird feeder we was told yesterday by our neighbour that our other neighbour had put traps out and killed two mice the problem is i don't want these other two to be killed but also don't want them to get into my house our bird feeder is empty for the moment as we are not filling it to see if there will go away as they will be no food supply and also they come out during the day as well so that's telling me there are desperate for food can someone give me some advice please |

| | Re: mice If you could get a picture so we can see what type of mice they are that would be good
We have mice in our garden also but thankfully the neighbours appreciate that they are just field/wood mice (not my dad though because they devoured his lettuces haa) and don't want to kill them because they reckon field mice don't come into the house (although they have been into ours a few times but for food and not to nest).
Perhaps your neighbour is one of these people who don't realise their are different types of wild mice and most seem to stay out of houses as a lot of people just assume they are pests. At some point (Maybe after identifying the species) you could speak to your neighbour and educate them and let them know that the mice shouldn't cause any harm (especially if you do leave food outside for them because then they will have no reason to venture into the house)
They have the right to be here as much as we do...
here some more info: http://www.animalcorner.co.uk/britishwildlife/mice.html
and RSPB webiste will have a good amount of info... http://www.rspb.org.uk/wildlife/wild...ousemouse.aspx
and there is good information on mice in british wildlife books (e.g. collin Complete British Wildlife - Paul Sterry)
