ID : Parent Shieldbug?

Evening,

I have attached to poor images of a Shieldbug species seen along the Grand Western Canal in Devon on Friday. It was quite small for a Shieldbug and I think it is a good match for Parent Shieldbug (Elasmucha grisea) but I am cautious as my FSC chart sayd it is a northern species.

Any opinions would be appreciated.

In Evans & Edmondson (page28) it's mentioned as being common and widespread throughout the UK. Males in May around Birch. I would suggest that it is Elasmucha grisea

Thank you for backing the ID up. I must get myself Evans and Edmundson as well as the same publisher's book on Grasshoppers as the FSC chart for those is a bit poor for me.

Nice to have another new Shieldbug after having also seen Blue Shieldbug this afternoon in the garden.
