A gall? What caused this?


The largest of a number on an Almond tree - not seen this one before.

Hi
In appearance it is similar to the pouch gall Eriosoma lanuginosum which is caused by aphids and found on Elm trees.

Interesting - I'll have a look round and see if any other nearby trees are affected.

Possibly Peach/Almond leaf curl, a fungus disease.

I've been looking at that too. Taphrina deformans fungus it seems causes this type of swelling and colouration. I'll have a closer look
