Hi Bruce, is this the only shot you have? From what I can see, hairy eyes, large size and pattern it should be Muscidae, Phaonia trimaculata female.

Thanks for the suggestion Walwyn. Very similar looking species for sure but the pattern of the wing venation is wrong for Sarcophaga carnaria.

Janet - Unfortunately I only have more of the same (similar viewpoints). I have to say that to to me everything (including wing venation) looks right for Phaonia trimaculata female - if it isn't then it's something very close. Thanks for your help.
