Hello,
Can you tell me who these are - there were about 100 of them all grouped together on a rose.
Are they harmful to the rose?

They are spiderlings of the Garden spider and will all sail off on the wind soon, so no problem as far as your plants are concerned.

These are baby Garden Spiders - Araneus Diademata, you can tell by the mark on their rear ends! Very early hatching. They won't hurt any plants.

Thank you both very much.
My wife was all for killing them - but I thought to ask before hand.
Apparently they have been hanging about together for a few days.
I'll watch them with interest.

agree with the above i had some in my porch with a web across my recycle box  so had to move them placed them out side on a bush they all gone with in a few hours balllooning which is what yours will do soon
