Cantharis species ID
Two days ago in Norfolk I photographed this Cantharis rustica (photo 1) but later that day I photographed this other Cantharis species (photo 2), please can someone help me with the ID.

Is it just a dull immature form of Cantharis rustica or is it another species?

Hi,

no. 1 is Cantharis nigricans. You can see at the more grey coloure, the legs mostly reddish-brown and only the femora black and the black mark is in a typical form that can't be seen to well in this photo.

I'm not absolutely sure about no.2, but I think this is Cantharis nigricans, too, with a bigger mark at the pronotum.
