Beetle outside, what is it?
Went outside for a smoke at around 12AM and on the road there was a large beetle, the link below is a video of it but the beetle looks a lot bigger in real life. What is it? Thanks

Hi James, welcome to WAB.

It's a Cockchafer beetle, Melolontha melolontha. They takes about 4 years to develop as a grub in the ground, living mainly on roots of grass and shrubs but also other plants.
