| | | Damselfly i.d.s New to damselflies, and I have managed to identify many of the photos I took at Shapwick Heath last weekend, but some I am unsure about and some I have no idea. I hope people won't mind me asking for help on the ones that have got me stumped.
I think the first is a female variable, the second a female red-eyed and the last a small red-eyed, but I am not at all sure.
Any help most gratefully received. Thanks. |

| | | Re: Damselfly i.d.s 1 (Qvariabledamselflyfem) is a blue form female Azure - note the gently wavy rear edge to the pronotum.
2 (Qred-eyeddamselflyFemale) agree.
3 (Qnoidea) is a female Red-eyed (note the short antehumeral stripes)
4 (Qneedhelp) is a female Blue-tailed (rufescens-obsoleta)
5 (Qdontknow) is an immature male Azure
6 (Qsmallred-eyeddameslfly) is a male Red-eyed (note the blue confined to S9 and S10 and no antehumeral stripes)
