Bug or Beetle?

Found, during a foray with Jungi John, under well rotted fallen branch on log pile.



Not sure if it is classed as a beetle, as the wings appear to be exposed. Any help towards an ID appreciated.

It's a fly, and Bibio marci seems to fit.

Thanks Jason,

That one had us both fooled. It wasn't flying and seemed to emerge from the old wood, acting more beetle like than fly like. But yes, I can see it now.
