Bug nymph

had a trawl through the British Bugs images but didn't spot this Plant Bug (?) nymph, any IDeas?

What was the specific habitat? It sort of looks like a log-pile.

on a large branch fallen from an Oak tree, there were similar all green nymphs too. I will ask Tristanba on Flickr, likely get an ID.

i guess its miridae, looks hairyish so could be psallus. It looks teneral though. Do you have any pics of the green ones? They maybe the same sps.

I think it is indeed a Psallus species, but there are many different ones, and even the adults are tricky (some needing dissection). Unfortunately, quite a few feed on oak. I'd leave it as Psallus? sp.

You see I edited my post? I removed my suggestion of Psallus! Glad to have agreement. Other than it's, albeit rather teneral, habitus, I find this genus to be about the most common Oak mirid found away from foliage.

Well, varians would certainly fit, but I'd be a little cautious without the adult. I've never seen a nymph of Psallus quercus, for example, and I'm pretty sure some of the more common ones are also greenish. However, varians is probably the most likely, I agree.
