its the time of year when the queens are going about there business.
anybody know how long it takes for the various lifecycle stages to be completed. ie egg to grub to adult ?? i have seen queens carrying food to nests and want to know how long i have left to exterminate the blighters ! whilst i appreciate that they have there place in nature i don't want them in my garden : ) last year we left them to get on with it and it resulted in 13 active nests and basically turned the place into a no go zone !!! so far this year we've killed 36 queens !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! any info would be appreciated as i can't find anything on the net regarding this. cheers

well it would appear workers are out already !!!!! i suspected yesterday that some of the wasps killed were to small to be queens. today i found an active nest with workers under the bonnet of my lada niva , which hasn't moved for a while. so i moved it and will report back if the blighters are clever enough to find it.
