| | | Fearsome looking bug for id Went up to Knighton Wood (Buckhurst Hill, Essex) today. Whilst trying (with eventual success) to get some pics of male and female (with sac) Wolf spiders, this creature appeared. Whilst there were plenty of spiders scampering about around it, it ignored them and proceeded to run repeatedly in a circle (about 2in diam). I used the old trick of putting a bit of saliva in its path and managed to get it to stop a couple of times. Wonder what it was doing, anyway, I have never seen one of these before and I was thrilled. By the look of that pointed thing it ain't no friend to something. Can anyone please id. Thanks, Les. |
