| | | Bees, finding an ID I'm trying to learn a bit about IDing bees and was wondering if anyone could help please
I took these photos yesterday and was wondering if I'm correct in thinking this is Andrena species? I thought this because it does not have a long pointed marginal cell that reaches almost to the wing-tip like a honey bee, and has 3 submarginal cells.
If I'm wrong please let me know how to tell honey bees from Andrena species.
I also have this bumble bee to identify, I was thinking perhaps a Bombus pratorum because it was around 12mm long, has a yellow collar and orange-red tail.
Thank you for your help!

The first is indeed an Andrenid - could be A. nigroaenea. The second looks good for pratorum. I think I saw my first worker today.
Take care, Jason |

Take care, Jason | I saw some B. pratorum workers visiting the flowers of Geranium macrorhizum in my garden this afternoon. |
