Stag beetles
Can anyone suggest a good place/time to have a good chance of finding a stag beetle. I am in the south-west of England, regularly go for walks in countryside but have never seen a real live living one. Any suggestions where to go?

I think they are most common in the south-east of the country + parts of the London area have good numbers. Not sure about their distribution in the south-west.
