Saw this pretty little insect on some ivy this afternoon. It's completely new on me so any help with identification appreciated.  |

New to me too - and what an unusual little insect it is. Afraid I can't help with an id but I'll be watching this thread with interest.

Tephritidae, Euleia heraclei. They come in different colours for different seasons, I got a black one a couple of weeks ago.
