| | | Re: Flies in the Forest The very small insects in the first pic look like Chalcid wasps. The other one is probably an Empididae fly, I'm getting some small Hilara sp. now but there's a lot of them.
Second pic is probably Lauxaniidae, without seeing more that's as much as I can say.

| | | Re: Flies in the Forest Thanks Janet. On reading them up I'm sure you are right. We were near the ponds in the Forest of Dean and there were lots of flies buzzing around. the habitat was correct. The yellow fly was extremely lively but didn't want to go out!
