A day of damsels - Part 2

I'd noticed two days ago this deformed Large Red, newly emerged:



She was still there this morning, in the same place but looking a lot better:



Then before my very eyes, along comes a bruiser of a male and knocks her off her stem and into the water! I didn't half yell at him! I was sooo tempted to help her, but no need - to my surprise she clambered up onto a leaf, looking quite OK apart from the kink in her abdomen:





Late in the afternoon I noticed that she'd managed to get onto another leaf, higher above the water:



I'm trying hard not to be sentimental, but it does seem sad that she'll get no reward for being so plucky
