Hoverflies,Bees, beetle & Harlequin for ID please

Hello

A mixed bag for ID please taken over the weekend: 2 Hoverflies I'm tentatively ID'ing as Erastlais sp and Menostoma sp.

I"ve not seen this beetle before but seen on another thread Rosemary Beetle - is this one?


2 Bees I don't know - is the second a honey bee?


I think this is a Harlequin - Harmonia Axyridis_Conspicua?

Yes, the ladybird is the conspicua form of Harmonia axyridis, 'harlequin ladybird'. Your other 'beetle' is a bug .... it will come to me in a minute ..... maybe .... it's one of the Sehirus spp - S. lactuosus/impressus but I forget how to tell them apart ... I'll have to look them up unless someone wlae comes along, as they surely will ....

Afternoon Jane,

The hoverfly is a female Melanostoma species. The beetle is actually a Burrowing Bug, Legnotus limbosus. The bee is an Andrena, species probably not possible from a photo.
