There was one recently which looked like Periclista albida, it didn't look to have the spots but it might have. Periclista sp. does seem to be correct though.. I found one with spots!  TrekNature | Symphyta - Periclista sp. Photo
We have three species in the genus.. Periclista albida

I have a specimen and it looks pretty good, though I doubt whether I would have matched it (without trawling through my entire collection).
Larvae on Oak.

Thanks for your help with identification everyone and for links .
Is this a female and if yes is the "dark bit" at end of abdomen the tip of her ovipositor (saw)?
