| | | Re: Identification - hawthorn shiled bug Afternoon Mike,
It's a Western Conifer Seed-bug, Leptoglossus occidentalis scientifically. This species is a fairly new arrival in the UK, and spreading well.
Take care, Jason |

| | | Re: Identification - hawthorn shiled bug I'm sure Tristanba will appreciate details of this record (date, place, observer) as he is the national recorder for this group of insects + it's useful to have all records to see how its distribution is increasing as a new colonist.
Welcome to WAB as well! |

| | | Re: Identification - hawthorn shiled bug Yes - the details for this record (date/location) would be much appreciated! Leptoglossus hasn't been here long but has already spread quite widely.
Thanks

I found this bug last October in my bathroom - in Thrybergh, near Rotherham, South Yorkshire. Interestingly although we have conifers in the garden there are no pines, although there are within 1km
