This what I think is a caterpillar was found in a friends garden, is about 4 inches long and about an inch in diameter, but no-one has any idea what it is or will grow into. |

I think what looks like the tail of a hawkmoth larva is a plumed seed similar to that of a willowherb stuck on it with all the other detritus.
